Not really that good at advice, friend but I know I enjoyed the read and wit held within it. So anybody who can write in humour about their down days as good as this, rocks! I think you might be mistaking gloom for beaming smiles,

Stbond, I can't do holiday retail either. Join the club, too impatient
with fools, I don't suffer them gladly or otherwise. I need to make some quick cash, too, but cannot do the $7 an hour grind anymore. There's got to be something better than this, eh?

Amusing and sad in equal measure.
You're still able to smile at it, that's a good sign. It might not be fun, but you can see how ridiculous it all is. You probably dislike Christmas per se. I know I do. It's false fun, in the main. Real fun, yes. False fun, no.
I'm almost as downcast as you. I need to go to bed soon and go to sleep immediately, as I've got to get up and 5.30 in order to be tortured (altho hopefully I might get a tablet of something nice to take away the pain - on the other hand it might be a placebo) and I've eaten so much that my stomach is hurting and I'll probably be too full of energy being released into my system that i won't get to sleep till 4am.
We went to see a store Santa today, by the way. He was nice but a bit scary at the same time. And he didn't give me a present, the swine.
