Hi Taps,
thanks for the prompt.. I'm just tired, and a bit short of inspiration. Back on form in a day or two I hope.

bhaskar
it's been a bit humbling around the blogs in recent days. I think we're all feeling a little sober.
Thanks for the comment - they aren't always little angels but I'm happy to have this memory.

How many would wish to be mothers of such children as yours. BTW where you all these days? Haven't seen you around a while.

Tanga,
I am. I am very, very lucky to have two such beautiful children.  They are not driving me nuts now that they are grown, and are very nice adults.  We still have our moments though, LOL.

muser, after two babies and a couple of pets, I'm never too phased by mess, LOL. At least it's summer so things dry out quickly.

that's a very funny story, and sounds so familiar.

Troosha,
that's so true, and I do treasure them.  It just shows how perceptive children can be.

oh, mneme...I think I would have been beside myself...it makes me so upset
when I'm the one who makes a big mess to clean up! I hope things get better...and yes, what sweet kids to "take care of mom".

mneme, You reminded me of a funny incident years and years ago.   When my hubby and I bought our first house after we got married, neither of us had ever used a dishwasher before and were a bit intimidated by it.  I kept doing dishes by hand like I had always done.  One day while I was gone, hubby decided to try it.  Would you believe that he filled the cups full of Tide powdered clothes detergent.  When I got home, I found him in knee-high soapsuds with a broom trying to sweep it into the utility room where there was a drain in the floor.  As fast as he could sweep, more was pouring out of the dishwasher which was still running.  We had to replace the dishwasher as the integral parts of the motor were covered with soap scum.  We had to replace the floor tile as they began buckling and coming up.  He had a bit of a red face.  HAHAHA

What a nice thing for you children to have done.  I remember my daughter (during those times when I was over stretched and likely to "blow" at the silliest inconvenience) scurrying about before I got home to ensure the kitchen was tidied or the carpets were vacuumed.  It's important to remember those shining moments.

Justi,
if I have children who could be so thoughtful when so young, I am already blessed. Must have got something right.

Joe Love,
it was a combination of a blonde moment and a prematurely senior moment - I was daydreaming (didn't anyone notice my little joke about achieving "flow" - hello..).  I just grabbed the towels off the pool fence where my son and his pals had left them in the afternoon.  They're clean now of course. Though come to think of it, it's 24 hours later so they've been used again.  Bummer.

Tonyzonit,
what are you suggesting?? that I don't wash my floors?? - just kidding of course. I am the 'compleat housekeeper' (following Edith Wharton) when I am not out to work.  It's clean enough.

I am sorry about the mishap. But I loved hearing the story of the children cleaning it another time and never telling you. That was so sweet. Be blessed.

Now that's a bummer!  Cleaning clothes only to create more dirty laundry by having to use clean towels (I'm assuming they were clean) to clean up the mess you made when cleaning the laundry!  What's THAT about!!  LOL

Hi Mneme. Well it's good to wash the laundry floor from time to time!
