people die in the elements all the time here in san diego. they die
trying to make a better life for themselves and or their families.  Crossing the blazing desert, or deathly wintry mountain passes.  They may be just as heroic as Mr. Kim, but since they are "illegal" aliens, their heroism is lost to the more romantic.

I'm looking for Professor Peabody, shut up everyone else, are you here?

He was a hero. Died trying to save his family.
They will be sad for a time, but he will be remembered with deep love and respect.

Blanche

I can do a bit later.  Actually though your friend and probably Passion would have better info.

I keep certain things in my car and in my house because he tend to lose power in bad weather.

Bel, if you would blog about emergency planning, and supplies I would
really appreciate it, and maybe we could distribute here where we don't get much training and snow happens so rarely that no one is prepared.  I have a friend at the CP, ex-Army, 58, Ned, who is a disaster relief counselor, I should read his website, though.

So, no, I guess I should read Ned's website before I ask you to duplicate what he's already done.  The info is out there. Nobody thinks to look for it, til it's too late.

I think most people are unprepared.  Carl grew up in the middle of nowhere so it's has always been a given around here because that was how he was raised but for most of us who grew up in the city, we don't think of these things because we have a sense of someone will find us but often all it takes it one wrong turn and you can be lost.

So many people were unprepared, Bel, several people abandoned their cars
on the freeway and the idiots held the Seahawks game anyway, so it tied up traffic til midnight.

I started stockpiling supplies for M to put in the truck that day.

This is so very sad
And a stark reminder always keep emergency supplies in your car.  Blankets a few canned good and WATER.

My goal as a writer, Richinstore, is to put the reader in the scene. I'm
glad you think I've succeeded.
