I'm usually lucky to get any kind of internet access in the towns I visit though. They've usually been hit hard by some type of natural disaster.
30,000 residents in a small town in Illinois are STILL wo power - think it's been 9 days now...and the temp there is in the teens. I usually won't work disasters up north during the winter bec I hate cold weather but I'd go if they called me these days.

I learned this the hard way, Blanche....
You can't alway count on other people...not even the ones you thought you COULD trust - the ones you've leaned on in the past....sometimes people let us down.
We have to be strong enough to go on with or without them. I'm glad you realize that fact and you're willing and able to do it alone if necessary.
