For once, Prof. Peabody...
We are in agreement.  About the Arizona Memorial (I visited it about 25 years ago and it was very moving...just to think of all those people who lost their lives) and about rebuilding the World Trade Towers one foot higher.  That was my first thought after the bombing - to rebuild, that is.  A lot of people said those towers were merely ego but obviously they stand for what the enemies of our country see as a threat.

I visited...

the Arizona Memorial while stationed in Hawaii.  If you can read the bronze plaque, with the inscribed names of the dead, still entombed on the ship directly below you, without goosebumps or a tear in your eye, you have no blood pumping through your veins.

I sincerely wish they would erect a "9/11" monument nearly as poignant.  I recommend rebuilding the twin towers, only 1 foot taller.

I remember Pearl Harbor, Whimsystoryteller, what a sad day
There are those who don't forget and never will forget those lessons.

History being what it is

who knows the outcome of WWII without Pearl Harbor.  One thing is sure, Hitler would not have stopped on his own.  So, the US would have entered the war. .just don't know when.

Good thoughts my friend,

Lou
