- Go to Mary Cheney is pregnant -- is it right or wrong?
Politics and parenthing - who could have an opinion on that?
The first and foremost thing to consider when bringing a child into the world is, can it be given the necessary security that comes from unconditional love? I have never met Mary Cheney, but I would be almost certain she has the capacity to provide that. I am also certain that it will not cost my family a dime to support the child, so at this point, I consider it to be the sole concern of Mary Cheney and her family. To quote the most dynamic voice in music history, Billie Holliday, "GOD BLESS THE CHILD".

Ihave, leaving aside gay and lesbian couples having children, Mary Cheney
is a separate case. What bothers me about her, is not her sexuality, about which I have no problem, it's that her father,Dick Cheney and she are members of the Republican party, which has a vehement anti-gay stance. Yet, it is okay for Mary Cheney to be not only openly gay but a prominent part of her father's entourage.
The thing that bothers me is that she gets to be as gay and open, and now pregnant by an unknown sperm donor, (apparently that's irrelevant), and the rest of the country can't. This what I dislike about the Bush Administration: "Some people call you the elite, I call you my base". His base is the privileged elite.
