Avant, very true. Receiving is a gift in itself if it's done in the right
spirit, I believe.

avant-garde, that sort of thing doesn't happen often, but it does happen. It is always such a great reminder of what life could be if everyone took seriously the words of HWL, "Life is real, life is earnest and the grave is not its goal.  Dust thou art, to dust returneth was not spoken of the soul."   Only what we give away can we really keep.

Receiving is easy, when it is realized that it is the cyle of giving and no one loses.

Thanks so much. You are right. The more pomp and fanfair, the more pretentious.

It is a miracle to experience random kindness. I will try to give when I am prompted, as well.

Wow, that is generous. It seems there is more generous people

out there in your world than here in ours!!! He he...  We do not celebrate or have holidays like Thanksgiving so we do not really know what it is all about although we see it over the TV.  Enjoy your thanksgiving.  We will give thanks anyway. Enjoy!

Oh, and since Wiley mentioned it, Happy Thanksgiving to you, Cameron
and the kids.  Bon appetit.  We're having a small prime rib, not traditional, but still following in the grand American tradition of stuffing ourselves into a stupor and going to a movie.  Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving my friend, to all your family, and that was nice to read. The world can be so kind if we are open to it.

Avant-Garde, you have to be receptive the giving, as well.
Being self-sufficient or attempting to seem so, can be another trap. Letting someone help you is a boon to both of you, it just may not seem so at the time.

As w/ Great Ones, Avant too, reminds us that GIVING is the real secret to

life, to abundance, to spirituality. Nature gives; the sun gives to all; the rain and the fruit trees also do. Why else would the Bible speak of tithing, and giving? Does the work of God really need our puny dollar might to stand? Often the really inspiring churches are where simple people built simple buildings but pray wonderfully and sincerely, that may make some of us envious. Why, they give. Many old socieites have a thing like shame; if someone wants help and you say NO because you feel ike it, it is you, not the "BEGGAR" who is lowered in status. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving dear Avant! Shalom from Neil

avant

that sounds very unexpected, but great. i laugh thinking of this.

i was in vancouver years ago wandering the streets lost at five am, an older man walking by stopped and said "here, have some money" i think it was nearly six dollars. i was soaken wet and sleep deprived. i had a good breakfast.

i have had many happenings like this, especially hitch hiking.

Avant-Garde, that is very touching. I hope the man will be rewarded in
kind for his kindness. For those of us who believe in the kindness of strangers and miracles, so many acts of kindness are miracles in themselves. I hope Cameron does get to go to Orlando, in fact will say a prayer of my own and add mine.
