I don't think it's about caring or making an effort to do better.
I think it's about getting someone like you in the position. I think you either have 'it' or you don't. Sounds like he is
a) passing the buck and
b) blowing it off.
What a shame. Journalism is weakening just like everything else in our society due to a lack of passion about the things we do. I fear we're all becoming mediocre. HELP!
