Nautikos, although I consider you civil gentleman, I cannot say the same
fpr Corbin Dallas, I am sorry. He has insulted me and mine too many times, and YES he did indeed start the vituperative, vile name-calling. He is a pig, imho.

Blanche.

to say that you're not a robot is an observation and a compliment! They're not mutually exclusive categories...

And as to joining the 'true political faith', well, it belongs to the very essence of a conservative world view such as mine to be suspicious of any political dogma! Heck, if I don't even 'believe in' religious doctrines, how can I possibly accept political ones?  You might say that my agnosticism is truly 'ecumenical'...

muser,
thanks for taking time off from all that must be involved in settling in properly in your 'nest' in the hills! And I love your poetry...

thanks, what can I say, other than that I enjoy your writing as well...

Nautikos, lol, first, thanks for the compliment (I think it was a

compliment? Perhaps more an observation? I do agree that I am not at all robotic, life would be much calmer if I were I suppose, but infinitely more boring).

Well said, Naut, the unfolding intimacy, opening up over time of Blogit is its best feature, imho.  I went the opposite direction, I think. I started out 2 years ago, in Sept. 2004, needing to unburden myself and sort out my thoughts and experiences.  Through interaction through various people, some good, some mixed, I became aware of how other people react to my writing and to my experiences and it has a been a profoundly life-altering event.

To write has always been a burning desire of mine, now I'm gettting a better feel for what it is I want to write: to help victims of trauma, such as war veterans, or whomever, to find their voice as I have mine and gain a personal sense of redemption, empowerment and healing.

I enjoy sparring with you, I even respect you as a debate partner.  I may challenge you, but I do respect  you. Now, if only you would see the light and come over to the true political faith!

Dear Nautikos...This post is so well thought out...so well written...
and I feel sure it speaks to many of us who find ourselves here in Blogit shaking our heads in surprise at having found in addition to the
discipline of writing everyday...friends! I wrote a similar post not too long ago...

I love your writing style... I've missed reading my "regulars", but hopefully I'll have things done around here so I'll have more reading/writing time.

I am definitely not a politico, but Max is and I read your posts to him
regularly. He likes what you have to say...and HOW you say it. I am a story teller, and a poet...and I see both in you as well! In fact, I think you have the heart of a poet beating inside your chest!

You are a wonderful writer, and I am glad to count you among friends!

Nautikos, I am going to embarrass you some more I think.  I loved this post.  So well written.  Entertaining and yet I could associate with so much of it.  It made me like you even more than I already did.  It made me feel like I know you even though I don't even know what you look like, or your real name, or anything about you except for the words in your post.

Nautikos

OFFBEAT expressed it well when she said, 'you are like a teacher.'

Indeed you have been and are that teacher and friend to me as well.

That is the why of me laying out my thoughts to you about this Hydro One fiasco.

I know that it should be taken further, because everything about the HydroOne situation is anti-democratic, illegal and an affront to the population of Ontario.

Somehow, I intrinsically knew you were the kind of person of higher education, that would help me do what I very much needed to do, and that was to let go of the problem.

We are all connected at some level, and in your helping me to let go of it, I suspect that Plato, Socrates and the like, are very much alive in you.

I see in you sir,

'the quality of knowledge, ultimately on knowledge of the good'

HummingbirdSuch a nice post. I've never found you irritating and what you are willing to share is all that should be exspected of you. FYI ~ I've posted a really good birdfood recipe that you may be interested in trying.

Naut
You most definitely described the many facets of Blogitville. I am glad you opened up your thoughts to us. Like just now I learned that if it wasn't for Plato we would know nothing of Socrates. Your like a teacher to me and I enjoy reading you. Now that I have my directions I shall add this to my favorites so I remember where I can find you on a regular basis.

You know I have a confession of sorts to make...sometimes I read peoples posts and have no clue as to what they are talking about..way above my head or is it?
