of human nature, and easily adaptable to necessity. What surprises me is that you were so amazed by this particular example of woman nature.

Contradictions
are not that surprising. It's who we are, and our lives shape us and our views. Maybe you expected her to be different, because she was in a non-tradiitonal occupation? So, this could be more about your expectations?
