Whimsy, so you know or imagine that you know that the Hispanics in your
building, or neighborhood are illegal, because when you threaten to call INS on them (damned big of you, I might add), the neighborhood got quiet. I have to question your logic and reasoning abilities. What does that prove? That if you threaten someone with incarceration and deportation, they react with fear, they must be illegal? Not necessarily.
And, whom were you talking about milking social services and bankrupting them, if not for illegal aliens? Or is it merely because they are brown-skinned that you assume they are a) illegal aliens and b) milking the social services and bankrupting the country.
Which by the way, social services is not the biggest expense in this country, the Iraq war at $6 billion a month, is far more expensive.
And, you are the one who has yet to provide credible news sources for your assertions, so before you call me ill-informed, let's see some REAL facts please, not just racist ramblings.
A racist is someone who makes assumptions, usually negative, about another race based on no information, other then the need to feel superior to someone else.
I am not naive, WST, you have no idea who I am.

One more thing...
If you are relying on the news media for your source of information then you are really naive. They are so biased and they only give part of the story. They only tell you what they want you to hear. Having lived in Los Angeles for almost 23 years around all of the hype of "Hollywood" I can tell you that there is only a grain of truth in what most of the news media puts out.
It's not like years ago with people like Walter Cronkite who were responsible journalists and desired to let people know what was happening. The news media these days don't report stories, they create hype. If you don't know that you are very, very naive and you need to live a whole lot more years to know the difference I guess. It's sounds to me like you are very young.

I didn't say they are all illegal...
You are putting words in my mouth. I said most of them are and the reason I know most of them are is because of their reactions to certain things in the neighborhood. And, the fact that most of them don't speak any Engllish.
And, when they were shooting pieces of dynamite on 4th of July and I told them to stop because they were putting people in danger and it was shaking our whole building, one woman smarted off to me so I threatened to call the INS the next morning. All of a sudden the whole neighborhood got real quiet and they all disappeared off the streets. If they're here legally, they wouldn't have to be afraid of the INS, would they?
And before you get upset over that, they were putting my home in danger. They not only were shooting off pieces of dynamite and throwing firecrackers at cars going by but they were letting their children shoot those rockets off into the trees next to my building in the middle of fire season. All it would have taken was one little spark to put our building on fire and I have no where else to go besides the streets so I will protect my home no matter what.
I think you are very naive, Blanche. And, all of those statistics you are talking about can easily be swayed to whomever's opinion is control of creating them. I know, I was very good at statistics in college and I know just how easily it is to manipulate the results and since I have no trust in the media or the politicians, I don't buy their statistics. I prefer going by experience.
Obviously, you've led a very sheltered life and I invite you to come down and live amongst the neighborhood I do with their gangs and drug deals and drive by shootings and we'll see what you think after living in it for a while.
Until you have, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't pass judgment on me.

I believe in credible news sources and fact checking, research rather than
just copying and pasting out of a biased source with no real understanding.
Can I ask how you know that the Hispanics in your neighborhood are all "illegal" have you checked their papers or did you just assume that they were?

Unfortunately...
There are too many people who don't know the truth behind the illegals situation. They just believe the hype from the media and people have made this into a race issue instead of a right and wrong issue. If the situation were dealt with on its merits instead of on the race issue and if those in favor of giving the illegals amnesty, etc. were the ones who had to pay for it, I bet they'd change their tune real fast. And, if they had to live in the middle of it they'd change their tunes.

I can only imagine what the face of LA looks like these days. I am completely against any illegal receiving US government assistance. The keyword is illegal..I have no problem with the honest people who come to the US to live the American dream. I do have problems with the tax issues. With the current agenda the illegal can pay 4 years of back taxes and everything is okay...the majority do not have time sheets, 1099's much less a 941. Therefore they only have to present little documentation and based on this the taxes will be assessed. Now that down right makes me madder then all get out. If they only have to pay for 3 years of taxes then I say I want that same courtesy. I also want my taxes back for the 3 years of my highest paying tax period. Seems only fair to me. We do not have any Latino's or hispanics where I live but the day will come I am sure..In this town they won't be well received because the people believe they (the illegal) have gotten away with something..the way people in this town think is illegal is just that...illegal~
