Rumored,
yeah, one of these days I too will get into the spirit of things, , and try and find out who it is I should vote for in a municipal election...

I don't think anyone showed up to vote here in Windsor, Naut...
mayor was a shoo-in..council was basically the same way...about as boring an election as they come, but still, a lot of people have paid all for our privilege to vote.

Corbin,
what is possibly excusable in municipal elections is inexcusable in federal or state/provincial ones...

Blanche.
There seemed to be more interest this time, but I haven't seen the final figures yet...

Justi
thanks. You're absolutely right: we should thoroughly inform ourselves on the issues!

Nautikos

I do the same, just go mark my x, out of guilt trips laid on us by everybody.

Fact is I am thoroughly disgusted with our political situation in Canada, especially with 40 or so traitors that want to break up the country sitting in Parliament as we pay them.

When it's all over and Québec gets recognized as a nation, or it finds it's collective balls to get the hell off and form their own repubublic or whatever, we will then apologize for ever having teated them so badly and pay them everything they want to the end of our freakin' days.

All that because the British kicked France's ass on the Plains of Abraham?

Give me a break.

I have no idea who to vote for anymore. I thought Green Party, but this entire environment thing is a crock dreamed up by big business and industry in the U.S.A. and here.

The fact is, and I believe it, this damn planet was warmer 1000 years ago then it is now, so the Greens are out for me.

If a female runs somehow in Canada, in any election, I don't care what party she's head of, she'll get my vote.

Democracy is nothing but a crock until women get a chance to govern for at least 50 years.

Man when you decide to post a blog, you sure can get me stirred up hoss. lol

It is my sincere belief that we are at a juncture in history that we can not afford not to vote or know for whom we are casting a power mark. We can only know from their junk ads if they have not been there before. I think many here voted a reason this last time and have no idea about the people they voted in to effect that reason. They can do nothing about the reason short of some very bad work.

Nautikos, typically here it's the same, small turnout, not this time.

Tanga,
I don't even know enough about these people to know who was responsible for leaving out the squash courts...

If you are happy it is best
to vote for those who keep you happy. I would have voted for somebody else if squash courts were not built.
