Hey, who used French? Not on my site, sacre bleu!

Bonjour, mes amis, Tonyzonit, .Dave, Bhaskar, Troosha and Marie-Claire,
(wherever she is).   I am having un petit dejeuner (did I get that right?).  French is such a beautiful language,  but intimidating. The French seem so intolerant of amateur mistakes, of which I make many, in so many things.

We're not playing with French letters again, are we, Tony?

Merci mes amis, pour ces comments interessants et amusants.
C'est Bhaskar, ou Marie-Claire?  Troosha, you have made me an offer I can't refuse. Boredom it is.

"

But children never lifted by the strong

Arms of dead fathers know of the pitfalls

"

That was a strong couple of lines.

Very good once again.

Tony
Ah.... the 60's.  I wonder how much the next generation actually understands about the quiet (or not so quite) revolution that took place - the freedom of thinking for one self, the "joints" and ensuing music, the sexual revolution, the "me" period, and yes the emergence of demanding peace.  The 60's set the stage for some clear thinking but also some hedonistic behavior.  In part, I think that's why the boomers went on to feeling a sense of entitlement to two cars, 3 TVs, 3 trips a years, large mortgages.  They dispensed with the fundamental self discipline of their parents - disregarding that moral fibre as "square" behavior when in fact it was the foundation of family. Did I just say all that?  Was that my out loud voice?
PS.  I'm still waiting for the Hmm, a challenge... I might try writing something that is focussed on the really boring side of life, making it sound as boring as it is, but somehow obviously making the poem a good one if possible (a note you left on my post a couple of days ago).

Blanche, I am a bit busy...
I just started this new job in a new school, teaching French, it is a really friendly school I like it so far... so I might not be able to chat so much, it could be awkward you see. I am better, with the usual ups and downs. Thanks for the invite, it makes me so hungry, my mouth is watering...

MarieClaire, I wish you could be here for dinner. I just finished a recipe
of Strat's Frogmore (or Beaumont Stew), a potato-based stew with shrimp, corn and Kielbasa. It is heavenly, perfect for a rainy day. M willl be getting off work in less than an hour, so I'll be off to dinner.  How are you?
