- Go to Elton John Blames Religion For Hatred Toward Gays
Elton John's concern, faholo, seems to be with the targeting of gays by
religious organizations and the power they have over their congregations. Religion is a powerful force. He's also not wrong. I say this in a gender neutral manner, just as an observation. And I love Elton's music, regardless of his sexual orientation. I do, however, know of a guy who, in his late 30s, having found out that Elton John was gay, took the Elton John cassette he was listening to from the tape deck of his vehicle and viciously threw it out the window, stating that he wasn't "listening to no fag." He is an avid churchgoer.

"leading a peace concert with a vengeance" I think there
is a contradiction of terms in this. Poor Elton, it seems he is always getting picked on! I wonder if it ever occurred to him that some of us simply do like his voice or his music and there are actually some people who have no idea he is gay! Besides many people dislike "gays" who have never been inside a church and consider themself to be non-religious in any manner. Wonder how he explains this? Blessings,
