You're right, Blanche. I don't think most people really understand the
true significance and power of the Supreme Court.  Ultra-conservatives, neocons, revisionists, evangelical Christians, and the radical right do.  So far, we've been lucky.  Sandra Day O'Connor was a force of moderation, a shock to those who thought she was dyed-in-the-wool conservative.  I'm hoping Roberts and Alito will be far more Constitutionally oriented.  Getting another moron like Scalia appointed to the Bench will only see the rise of decisions that impose the morality and ethics of the dogmatic and ideological.  I do not wish laws to be emplaced that impose the morals of any particular group or creed, but we are dangerously close to just that in this country...

Saul Relative, the biggie will be when it comes time to nominate another
Supreme Court Justice.  I am not sure which justice is ill, I think it might be Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but it'll probably happen in the next 24 months. The best we can hope for, I guess, is someone neutral.
