It is finally clear that Christmas broke free of Jesus' stigma
Several years ago Xerox was in a legal battle to keep its name since "xeroxing" became a verb, thus rendering their name generic.  Christmas has long, long surpassed any religious connotation it may have had.  Christmas is now a generic term that implies Santa Claus, flying reigndeer and credit card debt and, hopefully "Christmas spirit".  "Christmas Spirit" is a real thing and it is not offensive.  It is the joy that is in children's eyes, in the coming together of families and the hope of a better year to come.  "Happy Holidays" takes the Christmas spirit out of the season and then is really nothing more than corporate gluttony.
