I have their Greatest Hits, somewhere. I like to listen to them occasionally, when I get into my "Eagles" mood.

I actually like quiet better most of the time, but a favorite album can
really help.  For some reason,  I've been listening to Eagles Hotel California, just for fun lately.

Music is the best way to lift my mood, even if I'm not feeling down. Unfortunately, I mostly only listen to it when I'm in the car.

For me, too, Sunnybeach, going back to past places, like I did yesterday

in a way is a good thing.  There's a certain desensitization, over time.

I use aromatherapy a lot, keep a couple of small bottles of essential oils with me, like sage and rose, which are very calming. It's almost like the old Victorian smelling salts, or something. Something to snap out of a mood or memory quickly. But music is still my favorite way to change my mood.

Scents are a good idea, I've never thought about that. Thanks.

I'm pretty much ok. I've learned to deal with the past. There are only a few things that may come up from time to time that are harder to shake, but for the most part, the past that holds the most pain for me, seems like a whole different life to me now, and in a way it is.

I'm going right now, before I forget and end up blogging on.

Sunnybeach, I like Troosha's answer, stay in the present. When the past

comes up, which it will, it feels to me like the tide swallowing me up, all thought and awareness of the present time is blotted out.

I'd say, do something to get through the immediate moment, I use music a lot, to change the mood, make it more upbeat, get up and move, do housework, go for a walk, something to get through that immediate memory.  Also, be nurturing to yourself, hot tea, some pampering, like aromatherapy, good smells. Smells are really key to triggering memory.  I like citrus, something clean and fresh, to kind of snap out of it.

Sunny, it must be true. I'm late again today. You've just reminded me it's
time to stop blogging and eat.

If it wasn't something important, I likely wouldn't make it at all!

I always like to be on time and Mr Tanga is even worse...

he pressurize me to be even earlier but these days I do not care so much because I have a good excuse ... the kids!  These people here in Zambia do not care about time so I have let it slack a bit too.

Afzal, being on time is a very good think, it helps avoid
unnecessary stress.

I was raised by a mother who my family jokes will be 'late for her own

funeral'. I was always running five minutes behind, and then my kids started school and I realized that the key to being on time is being one step ahead of the game. If the clothes are laid out the night before, if you make sure their homework is done and in the backpack, etc, it will make it so much easier to be on time.

Sometimes I get so immersed in a task that I lose track of time. More often than not, though, I am a few minutes early now. I don't like feeling rushed. I like knowing I have ample time, and that I'm prepared for life.
