You know, I did some pressure with some of the pressure points in my face today, and it did somewhat help.

It's a good thing you told me, I might have tried it.

Dave
I had to take pills today too. And not just one, but two. I had a really bad migraine that brought tears to my eyes.
I usually don't let it get that bad, but I had no ibruprophen at home.

It's really good to hear about this. And I'm happy it works for you, but somehow, I doubt that I can manage this. LOL

Now you had just told me that you DON'T get headaches. So WHY would I send something for your headache?

Take some pain med, tylenol, mortin or Ibuprofen, u had enough stress

Concentrating on the ache - a kind of meditation - helps.
I have also found it useful to have pressure applied on the pressure point on the forehead temple

I bang my head up against the wall and then stick it in the toilet.

I'm kidding, of course.

A hot shower, head under the stream, will often do the trick for me.
Can't stand taking pills either, but I've had to today. Headache that's 3 days old now.

Over time, I developed an immunity to Tylenol. So, what I do now is ...

find a cool, dark corner of the house, and just go stand on my head (for about half an hour). Seriously. That usually helps. Something to do with stimulating blood flow.

Since you know I don't have a head to think with, I don't get headaches. Thanks your energy was a great help.

Really? Wow. Do you think the teeth put pressure on the nerves or something?

I know when I get them from lack of sleep or food, there isn't much to cure it except to get those things!

Thanks! Only the really bad ones are hard to get rid of.
The others usually go away within a few hours, if I try to tend to them.

Oh my goodness! I can imagine. Three crabby females in the same house! We have that once in a while too. Very stressful in and of itself.

"Is there any other kind?"  ...That's funny!

I don't have many problems with them, but when I do, they can be pretty intense. I have often felt very ill with them too, though I haven't yet thrown up from them, thank goodness!

there are 2 types of migraines though
common and classic - i have the commons one that are slightly less painful and are fueled by anxiety and stress.  my vision gets impaired / bright lights and noises bother me.  the classic migraine is much worse.  those can even be caused by food allergies.  i did some research when i started getting symptoms after the bus crash.

Excedrin. The headache medicine. Or nothing depending on how I feel
in relation to it going away. If it's fast, or for a reason, like I haven't eaten or gotten sufficient sleep, or if I'm dehydrated, no pills. If it's due to stress or hormones, I take aspirin. I do hate headaches. Since I had my wisdom teeth out I have less.

Hand me that paracetamol!
Fortunately I do not have many headaches and if I do it is normally my own fault! I hope that they do not last for too long.

I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds so horrible. I can't imagine dealing with that every morning. Getting up is sometimes hard enough.

I figured maybe you would.

They lessen over the years? That's interesting. Is that usual?

Sunnybeach7...

Hi Sunny. I have had migraine headaches for years off and on and I am convinced they are usually self induced from extreme stress. The body has to find a release of some sort. My headaches are so bad at times that I become nauseated and end up throwing up. I find that a pain reliever med, a dark room, quiet, followed by a nap usually relieves the pain, eventually. I had a professor that believed that if you put your hands in the hottest water possible, it helps, although I'm not convinced.

I stayed up all night, one night watching the progression of a hurricane tracker on the computer. It was too close to my daughter's home and I was scared for my daughter, thus the result one stupid migraine. Migraines are no fun at all and I hope yours' went away fast!  I always tell my hubby that I have one of those stupid headaches, he teases me and asks, "Is there any other kind?"  Take care, Sunny.PostSmile!

every day - then it goes away in about an hour.  for the really bad ones i just take exedrin.

I do just as you do .

I have had migraines but they lessened in frequency with the years. I still do get them and medicine doesn't help much. Lying down with a heating pad does. I have complained a lot on my blog about someone I work with but usually I give him the benefit of the doubt for his behavior because he is subject to severe headaches.
