Star...I wish you were right about nobody being a fool-
But there are plenty of foolish people these days. That man doesn't love the girl who is sticking beside him and supporting him. He told me so himself.
He said she was an immature child and that he was amused by their relationship in the past but was getting ready to dump her.
In spite of me sending her my emials to that affect, she has still supported him, making both of them very foolish people in my book..

Passion
I can't believe anyone gets caught up with this guy. Just following the saga(s) of the various people here regarding him would be enough to keep a serious arm's length from the guy. It all oozes CREEEEEPY. I only read about it and I want to scream "PERSONAL SPACE!!!" There hasn't been a sincere word said from this guy, IMO. I have been nice for the most part, but I've made a point to stick to those other, very safe issues/topics. After all of this...I'm done. I don't like to see people being jerked around.
I started a war regarding it early on, not having a clue what was going on behind the scenes. When I look back, I hit it right the first time---for all the crap I had to hear. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc.
People mentioned the cultural diversity a bunch of times. This isn't about that at all. It's really about ONE CREEPY, LETCH. There is a whole nation of CREEPY LETCHES. Odd how that crosses all manners of race, religion, etc. But Passion, I love how you pointed out the very definite things about American women. Again, I don't think that will sink in. It's not of any importance to him---which is what I hope every female has sink into her head.
And the poetry stinks.

ABSOLUTELY WRONG, INDIA IS NOT MADE OUT THAT WAY
INDIA IS A HINDU COUNTRY BY MAJORITY, ONLY 7% MUSLIM DOESN'T MAKE A COUNTRY. IT'S ABSOLUTELTY WRONG TO SAY THAT INDIAN MAN CAN MARRY FOUR WOMEN, OH NOOOOOOOOOOO. WE HINDU'S VALUE MARRIAGES VERY MUCH. ONE MARRIAGE AND WOMEN EVEN JUMP ON THE FIRE TO DIE WITH THEIR HUSBAND. I DON'T BELIEVE A HINDU WOMAN WILL ALLOW HER HUSBAND TO SLEEP WITH ANOTHER WOMEN.IT'S SO SHAME TO HEAR AN INDIAN MAN TRIED TO FOOL YOU? WHO WAS THAT?

Bhaskar....I DO really appreciate you clarifying this for us all.
I think we do sometimes generalize thinking that all people from India are a certain way, but I can tell from your thorough explanation that it's not a custom that many still believe in or adhere to.
IN this instance, I believe the guy in question was simply using that as an excuse to be able to get away with having relationships with 3 women here on Blogit, as well as a wife and kids at home.
I believe that in ANY country, a liar is still a liar and a cheater is still a cheater. We have many people on here from various countries around the world.
For instance, Tanga is from Zambia Africa, a country that many might think of as a third world nation...a brutal land even. But Tanga is a very honest, gentle man...a good husband and father.
I believe a person either has these core values or he doesnt.

PassionF, I did read your great post of relevance withj great interest, but
I would, however, like to clarify one point (not wholly differ, but clarify), that "In their country four marriages are allowed". Not in that country, please note. India is a country predominantly of Hindus. Muslims are in minority, and it is only and only in the Muslim, or call it Mohammedan, community that four marriages are allowed. And, there is a historical background to it all right, but it is now prehistoric. The reason can be traced down 15 centuries back, when these people of the desert clans fought each other to death, leaving very few men against the number of women who, naturally, outnumbering men and, consequently, with no chance ever of getting married, and open to brutal sexual assaults, the prophet Mohammed, in order that they (women) find protection, deemed it right in accordance with the situation prevailing at the time, to design a way out by allowing a man to marry four women. And whatever Mohammed said then, according to Muslims, is religion even now. It had relevance then, but none now, and the foolish people go on believing it to be religion.
I thought this clarification was necessary, so that a wrong conception does not get formed about the country. Have I been able to be clear, Passion? Or my passion, as Indians would like to address you? Tsk Tsk Tongue in cheek… Even that too is too weird!

A relationship is already a major part of life with many
obstacles to over come, let alone cultural differences. It would be extremely difficult to maintain. Some have succeeded to overcome these differences, but I feel the majority fail. And what if he wants four American wives????

There was a young lady from Texas
That I dreamed about every night,
She's spunky, funky and all woman,
By golly she'd make a Canuck awright.

So I think I'll go hitch up the dog sled,
And take me a little ol' ride,
All the ways down to Texas
And make her my l'il ol' bride.
Now baby, this Canuck can vacuum,
Can do dishes and even the wash
You'd I'd the only one in your harem,
And I'd luv ya to piecses by gosh

By the way, I was in a somewhat similar situation regarding a guy from Africa--only, I'd actually met this guy in person. He was leaving me freaky IM and text messages, and calling me but then hanging up when I picked up. He kept telling me about how he couldn't stop thinking about me (and this after two very brief conversations with him) and how much he wanted to get to know me. Needless to say I blocked him and hope he got the message that I was skeeved out by his behavior.

Brava for handling that situation so well! The note you wrote was fantastic. I especially love the part where you write about how, if an American wife were in the situation his Indian wife was in, she would have locked him out of the house! I agree with you, I don't think this guy would have been so open to the ways of Americans. We're much too outspoken.

We had quite a BIG break-up here on Blogit last night. Sorry you missed out on it. He had 2 other girlfriends here on Blogit and one of those is sticking by him and supporting him in spite of his lying, cheating and infidelity.
I know that sounds quite unbelievable but it's true. Ask Sally or Lilane. I really wasn't seeking his affections at all. In fact I was emailing Sally each day telling her what he had said and asking her how I could get rid of him without hurting his feelings...now i feel stupid for caring about hurting his feelings.

Passionflower, for me the dealbreaker is the infidelity and sneakiness.
Sneaking around behind someone's back, a wife, to hook up with a woman in another country, that sounds judgmental or harsh, and we're not supposed to, as Christians judge, but does that mean we have to accept everything as right?
I'd say, it's not just the cultural difference, but the infidelity. If he'll cheat with you, he'll cheat on you, and that probably translates across all cultures.
Be careful, Passionflower, I don't want to see you get hurt again.
