To spit or not to spit
Hi, glad to have read your blog. I've often wondered about the spitting part when it comes to tasting several or more wines at a time. I guess, for me, if I get a bit tipsy while tasting, it's ok but for judges at wine competitions, I'm sure it wouldn't go over to well. Peace out!

More fun to swallow, but................
I agree it is definately more fun to swallow, but on a serious note.....when I am at tastings I sometimes spit. Your palate still takes in the essence of the wine but avoids becoming fatigued by so many choices, and you don't get buzzed so quick if you need to concentrate on the wines. On the other hand, if you don't care.....then swallow away
