I'm glad you made a post about the Military Commissions Act of 2006, since you have a larger readership than I do, but I posted here as it was being born

on Oct. 8th, 2006-- seems like the bushwacker is setting up a coup against American citizens and all we are interested in is a pedophile republican and so much nonsense.  I'm not holding my breath on this election either, that is, if we have one.

But I wouldn't count on your Supreme Court, packed as it now is with neo-con yes-men (and women).

I'm in total agreement, DL. I, too, have mentioned this egregious attack

against our civil liberties.  I'm hoping that the Supreme Court throws it out as unConstitutional.

You mentioned the Military Commissions Act. Nobody noticed that it passed - there go all our constitutional protections out the window. Wait - I think I hear a knock at the door now.

The president took the power to declare martial law?

Must have missed it while I was chowing down my Big Mac in my Hummer on my way to the Wal-Mart superstore to buy some guns and cheeze-whiz.

 

I know this is really no joking matter, but if you had to live under this regime you would need some humor-escapism too!
