I still prefer college basketball.
I agree with much of what you say.  But the college game is still about "team" and "school."  In the NBA it's all about the money and it shows.  Most of the big egos who play for "me first," like Kobe, could have benefitted from four years of college play.  But it will rarely happen again.  I miss the days when freshmen weren't eligible and no one could jump to pro ball until their college class graduated.  The college game was better then.  And the pro game benefitted from young men who were ready to play instead of being expensive "projects."

Blame it on "THE MAN" syndrome.  All of these players have been coddled since they were old enough to dribble and instead of learning their trade they just do the spectacular in order to be "THE MAN".  But it's still good entertainment for me.

Growler, I don't watch the NBA till about playoff time; however,
I will always treasure my Sunday afternoon games with Red Auerbach and the Boston Celtics.   There simply is no comparsion to the play of yesterday, and the play of today.
