I think it has a lot to do with two things:
1) He already has kids, I do not. I deeply want to nurture my own children. This is a factor I have spent my whole life preparing for.
2) For that reason, I am settling. It is settling because in one hand I have my heart, which will break when we move on, but to ignore my need to be a Mom...that would be severing my heart into several pieces.

Accomplishing your goals is important...
But you shouldn't put it on the same level as finding someone you love who loves you back. I don't believe you fully understand how rare and important that is.
If you DO go thru with this "Scheduled Breakup" simply in order to 'accomplish goals', I fear that you will some day regret it.
Of course,if you don't realize how blessed you two are to have found something so rare and beautiful, perhaps you don't deserve it anyway.
