Thanks Tanga... I just began the month long classes for membership there.
That decision alone seems to have started turning things around. I went to my first class last nite. I was so tired I could barely stay awake but proud of myself for going.

It sounds have if you belong
to a wonderful church and congregation. This alone means that your prayers will be answered eventually. Patience is the key

Katray...people around here can be pretty cruel to the Christians.
But Christians have always been persecuted.

The problems multiply when a religion declares they are superior in the interpretations, teachings and blessings of God's word. Extremism grows from those roots and we've seen the disastrous consequences of that bitter fruit. Surely most religions have been unfairly persecuted at some point, but it seems currently, at least in my neck of the woods, that
not being a Christian is more noticed and noted upon than being one. And it's often negative. My view.

Hi Passionflower, if you don't stop blaming God, you could end up in the
belly of a whale, heading out to sea! On the whole, wouldn't you rather be in Dallas?

Yes it is Taps...I've been blaming him for alot...
Cuz he's all-knowing and all-powerful, etc. It looks like he could do something about stuff.

Oh Lordy Maggie...sounds like you've had a busy day.
I do like my church alot - I started membership classes today. I'd love to hear the story of how and where our pastors met the Bushes - wouldn't you?

Ok, so the political cynic must ask -
Do you think the church would've received this letter if it wasn't election year? I don't deny that the church has done a lot of good and continues to help many people but why did the President send the letter a few days before elections?

How nice of George W & Laura to acknowledge your church. I do think you should feel honored and special. Didn't that make you feel good that you got to go to church? I would think that it would have made your day. I know it would me.
So, how is Passion? Fine, I hope. It's just another day of football in this house. I'm always glad when it over.
I've got the two grandsons for the night and today. They are good company.
Their mom's should be here soon.

Thanks Katray...my point was more about how
Much more persecuted the Christian church is than some of the others. Certainly, religions and other organizations, such as the Red Cross, do a great deal of altruistic work each year.

You are correct Passionflower - Christian churches do much good...
but so do synagogues and mosques. I've seen it up close and personal after last year's deadly tornado here. And people who are atheists have generosity and goodness of spirit too. Not confined to a certain religion, imo. Perhaps we all "have God" in some way...?

I hope you're right about that Absolutely....
I think the one real thing or person who separates Christianity from the others is Jesus Christ.

I think you have it wrong
In fact Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus and most other religions worship the SAME God, which they call by different names. All religions have a lot more in common with each other than they have differences. I am not religious but I have studied some of the world religions.

Warrior...I'm suprised at you!
You normally do not make such wide-sweeping generalizations. I think you know that it's always unwise and unfair.
It's like saying that ALL police officers are pricks.
Or ALL African Americans are a burden to the welfare system.

they should get used to not being liked. =)

Warrior...they DO claim to have the one true God...So do all the other
Religions. Maybe the Christians are right. The devil fights the Christian faith because it's the only one sanctioned by God.
The devil doesn't care about any of the others because they are no threat to his kingdom.
