I've always stayed away from these boards, even as a young boy..
I'm glad I did..even now if a movie comes along featuring a ouija board, I'll pass on it....

I've always feared those boards. I've heard they play games to lure you and then the serious trouble begins. It seems to me that I remember hearing that they must be buried in order to be rid of the demon.

Knowing what to stay away from is a good thing in many instances.

Thanks. I do believe there is a negative stigma attached to this divining instrument, which causes it to be charged with fear and therefore power.

Without untoward effects.

I think it is the collective fear of the board that gives it power. We have all heard of horror stories associated with them, and The Exorcist only served to validate it. Hardly anything is approachable without a preconception. In my opinion, it would take a strong, experienced person to handle one with untoward effects.

avant-garde, I praise God and ask Him to
release you from any danger caused by your encounter with evil (the Ouija board)! In Mark 5:1-20 is one of many stories about evil spirits. Mark, Matthew, Luke and Acts all worn us about tempting evil spirits. A word to the wise is sufficient! God bless you and your friend is my prayer tonight!  faholo

Avant-Garde, lol, it's like that joke about the wife who catches her
husband cheating, with his mistress, and he denies it, saying, "Who are you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes?"  I don't want to know if it's merely my perception that makes ouija boards dangerous, I just accept it at face value.

Yes, it is. But, I do not lend much credence to it.

He was using it with another guy, who was known to be into drugs and gangsta lifestyle. His name was James. James asked about a friend who was shot and killed. The board said he was in hell. James asked how hell was and it replied h-o-t.

I think there is a lot of negative energy surrounding these devices, from the stigma that they are evil. The belief makes it real and gives it the power, as Moxie says.

Absolutely. I take good care of myself now specifically for that reason. Our house is a peaceful and warming place.

My middle name is robert. I think you can get all kinds of crazy answers from a board like that. And, certainly there aren't very high-level spirits coming through.

I'll have to check it out. I also asked it if I'd be a published writer and it said yes. Hmm. Maybe I should keep trying.

You're right. For awhile, it bothered me, but no longer. I realize that it is not so just because some spirit declared it to be.

I have never in my life played with these kinds of things and I am not

ever planning to do it in the future.  I will be way too scared.... "Demons" and things I would rather stay clear off.  I really hope you are fine and that what this thing said is not true!  It is creepy and frightening.

That is too creepy!

I think it's one of those things that the more you think about it,
and worry about it, the more power you give to it and the more power it has to use. I do think they can be dangerous...

I know people sometimes tell tall tales, Avant, but I have heard too many

like that one, to not get a certain bad vibe about ouija boards in general.

Here's the worst one I've heard as I was sitting in a waiting room one day.  A man told this story about his childhood experiences with a ouija board.  Kids love to mess around with them, my friends and I did.

Anyway, his story was that he and his friends were in a deserted or abandoned house somewhere messing around with the ouija board. I don't know what question was askked, it wasn't really relevant I guess.  He said a cold wind blew the windows and doors open, the hair on the back of his neck and arms rose, and the lights went out (candles, maybe, I'm not sure).  But he said the overall feeling of evil was so strong that he and the others ran for their lives. He said he never touched another one.  I have heard others but that was the most striking story, compelling, no?

Ouija boards are not safe things in homes. They are not fun projects, nothing to fool with in fun or seriousness. Don't have one around your children. You expect the Lord to know your life span not Satan.

Kinda creepy eh?
When I was about ten I asked a Ouija board the name of the man I would fall in love with..it spelled out Robert...to date I know no Roberts!  So..you'll be fine!

Fine lines between wanting to kno what we ought to, being tempted by powers

that we immediately know to be other than good and divine. Give Praise and glory to God and ask for guidance in these situations because the saying goes: Curiosity killed the cat! (Maybe not even cancer could...LOL). Viva Avant---75 at least, man!

I can't actually quote the scripture(s) from the bible, but someone did for me at one time regarding demons and sorcery.  The one thing he said that has always stuck in my mind is the scripture regarding; "He is a liar & deceiver coming only to steal, kill and destroy."

I believe (my studies being mind-body-spirit related), you can choose to believe lies or use what you've been told by a liar to gain spiritual growth.  Your creator created you miraculous & disease is not from your creator, but healing power is.  I also believe your creator gives you every breath you take and is the only power to decide when you take your final breath.

I believe seeking out sorcery as opposed to living by faith, opens your mind to deceit. Live long & healthy by faith to disprove the lies.

It's not every day that demons tell the truth...the same thing happened to
me when I was messing with the Ouijia board, except it spelled Beelzebub...I had never heard of the chap.  Got rid of that thing when I learned more...
