Great post, Jane!
And thank you for posting your comment on my blog. In case you missed it, here's one of my cartoons that addresses this very issue, albeit from a different angle.

Thanks WritersBlok. He can be more than a little divisive at times, eh?

Jane,
If only Rush would've followed your line of comments than his own rant on this issue.

Corbin, it's rather amusing how these facts seem to escape people
at just the right moment.  So Fox's goal is to get as many Dems into office, no matter what they stand for and of course at the expense of truth.  Go figure.

Offbeats, thanks and I completely concur!

Parnell, your words are such a crock of you know what.
I am quoting an article from a scientific journal (did you miss that?  Go back to the post and take a look).  I am not manufacturing results.  Whether you can get this through your thick skull is up to you.  It is FACT that research results on embryonic stem cells have been less than spectacular.

I couldn't have put it better. I don't understand why anyone would make a political statement like M.Fox did without knowing where everyone stood on the issue. Fact of the matter is several days later we still have the "sympathetic" campaigner getting more and more attention because we are a compassionate nation. Of course everyone wants the cure for Fox and those like him...but separate the apples and oranges and politics isn't the answer for his dilemma. Why not spend that money in research..

To suggest, in such a glib manner, that embryonic stem cell research will just cause brain tumours - is a statement of gobsmacking irresponsibility and ignorance. How do you sleep at night?

He also did an ad in Va. against the Black GOP Senate candidate....the only thing is the DEM candidate actually voted against the bill funding the stem cell research...

Jane's

I believe a lot of people are mixing oranges and apples to get their own way in what ever they think they want.

LeRoy wrote an excellent post a few weeks ago about proteins and the suspicion that Parkinson's and perhaps a lot of other things may come from these. They may be getting to us through the fact that animal parts are being used in the feed of the animals and thus coming to us through the consumption of beef, poultry and pork. Not that we should not eat meat, just research more.

We need more research, less politicizing, less pro drug company or drug advertising,  and more truth, and less a me, me, me thing. Michael J. Fox is going overboard on this I think in the mixing of oranges and apples as you so aptly pointed out.

I like some of what that ranting man says too. He is an eye full to watch but his stories have merit. He goes at things the way the world does and still heaves up some good out of it.

Good post lady!
