Higher Education?

I'm trying to not misunderstand your post, but this just blew me away:

"But the GOP base is the best informed group of voters in the nation, with educational levels consistently higher than their Democratic counterparts'"

If this is true, and I surely doubt it, then why are the Repukes constantly criticising the "Liberal" universities and colleges and all that "liberal" education that is going on?

My view is that The Base, as you call it, are fundamentally crippled minds unable to carry a rational thought or arguement to a substantial conclusion with out bringing in the name of God to end the discussion.  They may be "best informed" in the area of sexual censorship and condemnation as an important issue facing the liberty of American Citizens but they no nothing about International Cultural diplomacy and peace.  The Base wants Christian world domination and anything less than that is considered evil.

Saulrelative, I hope you are right. I wonder who will get the nod for
Presidential nominees?

And with that base and reelection, the corruptness that comes with being
in power too long, the complacency of entitledness, and the hubris of the elite.  Even if the Republicans lose one of the two chambers, the Congress will be virtually unaffected, neither side being able to mount any legislation with overwhelming support.  So it would still be a push.  No, what the country needs to do is oust most of the Republican incumbents (not all, because there's a couple of good guys there -- but not Santorum) to show their displeasure with the actions of the 109th 'Do Nothing' Congress.  Then, in 2008, reestablish a conservative hold, if they can.  Personally, regardless of the outcome of these midterms, kingmi, I believe the Republicans, unless something dire happens within the party, will regroup and do well in 2008.
