Snake oil salesmen in the old west traveled from town to town
with their elixirs and potions -- mainly licorice flavored alcohol and water, with the promise they would restore lost nature, give weary housewives pep, and take care of tired blood. These days it's not some guy filling bottles at a spring outside of town, it's the big pharmaceutical companies marketing their snake oil with fabulous graphics and high-tech. Side effects? Oh, yes.

original--
I guess there is a reason they call them "schemes"--or should that be "scams?"
