Biryani has been available in Britain in Indian restaurants for decades
...but although I've been to quite a few, I'm not sure if I've ever had one. I'm sure it's delicious. By the way, Star4You did a post about biryani yesterday and I asked if he could post a picture of it, and you have! My wishes answered!

I don't use many of them myself...but you can get it mild, vegetable alone
and with a yoghurt-based relish that cools. Again, it is new for Americans as you say. Thanks for visiting my new restaurant, PF!

btw, Americans dont know anything about "picking rice"
We buy "Uncle Ben's Instant Rice"...

Thanks for this authentic recipe...I'm sure it's a strange taste
For most Americans...in fact, I've never heard of some of those spices....LOL!

Hi Marieclaire, good to see you hungry. Indians just celebrated DIWALI--but
I had forgotten--don't have an Indian calendar. Friends from Boston called last Thursday. Shalom

Belated DIWALI greetings to all who celebrate FESTIVAL of LIGHTS (India)

I love cooking Indian food, but have yet to try Biryani. Can do Pilafs. Net recipe for all who enjoy Chicken Biryani.

Glad star4you mentioned "biriyani". Found pic about Indians/South Asians in New York. Check out their neighborhood, Jackson Heights during Diwali-Festival of Lights: www.desiJacksonHeights.com
