"Perhaps it is in dealing with our inner conflicts that slays them once and for all". All mind's projection. That is why mind reading mind, subject to subject, throws much light in separating and in our recognition of the real from the false. Great work, avant.

Who knows where that fine line is, or if it is there at all!

Me, too. For many years, I thought I was being harried by some malevolent force. Perhaps I was merely running from my problems.

It's funny you should say that. I think that what you expect, you will receive. I wouldn't advise getting one.

We each have our own indwelling imbroglios, which manifest as all kinds of strange things. It's funny how life is.

..yes on both sides... we are often projecting and dealing with our own
inner demons... and at other times the demons are very real and are very nearby in another dimension... sometimes they manifest right in front of you.. shape shifted to a human form so that you won't see them for what they are... and there are far more of them among us than what you might think...

Interesting, I have found many instances in my life where I have seen some things that were very 'other worldly' foir want of a better term. Neat blog my friend.

A-G, those of us who are more receptive are, I believe, it's a shame, that

the world has such a limited recognition of the ethereal and ephemeral worlds, they are as real as this one, only dimly glimpsed through a veil and through much travail. If only we didn't have to go through this ring of fire to get to the other side.

I am "in this world but not of it," as well.

Sometimes, I feel suspended between two worlds. I've never felt at ease around what most people call society. Now, it's not a problem. It used to be when my folks wanted me to conform and be this or that.

It's a mystery, Avant, just don't lose your way in the maze.

I do tarot and pendulum work. It doesn't bother me in the least. But, as you say, sometimes my darkness rears its head. I'm growing older and developing an ever evolving attitude toward this whole spirit thing. Perhaps it is all one big mosaic that appears separate and distinct. My mind cannot fathom it completely.

Really interesting questions, Avant Garde

When people say they are "facing their inner demons" they are usually speaking metaphorically and intellectually most intelligent people pooh-pooh the idea as being superstitious nonsense.

However, in the wee hours of the morning, under certain circumstances, it is quite difficult to believe that the apparitions themselves do not have power. Perhaps it is merely the power of the mind over matter, but then the mind itself is incredibly powerful in creating its own reality, in fact as you remind us, it is that which does.

So, do the apparitions that appear to the credulous and receptive lend any credence to the idea of the other-world?  Yes, I believe so, they may be projections, but who's to say that it's an either-or situation, that the turbulent minds and emotions of teenagers (notoriously erratic and hormonal), don't leave an avenue or a window open to the dark and turbulent forces of the other world?

Not that it needs to be dark and turbulent, but without a guide to the spirit world, I believe too many tourists take a spiritual left turn at Albuqueque and stop and pck up ethereal hitchhikers, who may or may not have the power to harm, but otherwise may not have the person's best interests at heart.

I tread lightly with Tarot cards, which I used to read avidly, and other forms of divination and prophecy, because too easily the ego is misled into the vanity of thinking that the power inherent in the spiritual realm is personal power, and can become vain and arrogant, to their imminent downfall.
