Oh, you wicked, wicked man.

This is some sort of weird sex cult you're trying to lure me into, isn't it?

At least I'm hoping so.  I'll be right back with my credit card.  Me so horny.

Dylan...
...I'd like to see a basic income for all, too - I think we've discussed this before.

However, LogicL is a great stepping stone on the path to financial freedom. There's no massive investment, of time or money, and yet the way in which it builds a passive income for you over time is quite phenomenal.

As for capitalism, I've not been sceptical about it per se, but about the way it has manifested in the last 20 years or so, with the hyper-mobility of capital, the massive transfer of wealth UPWARDS (trickle-down was always a myth!), and the profit-above-all mindset that is rapidly screwing the planet and most people on it.

Did you know, by the way, that the wealthiest 200 people on Earth today are worth the same as 2.4 BILLION of the least wealthy? THAT sort of capitalism I would dismantle tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pat B...
...I don't agree. The 'system' tells you that you need a job (as a job = income) but it's really the system that needs you to pay tax so that it can continue to spend and grow. And, of course, a job / income makes you a good solid target for the banks to get you into debt, which means you'll then keep working and keep paying tax so that you can service the debts.

And so it goes.

The link I shared with you is not a job, doesn't need a vast time investment, no a big cash investment, yet can start earning you cash within weeks, and keep on earning for you for years.

Thanks for reading.

The passive income sounds too good to be true...

that is, as something that could be expected as a norm. Something causes me to doubt that a majority of people could achieve this "passive income".

I suppose some policies could push us closer toward it, though. What about issuing to every person born, government bonds that would mature by the time they were, say, 18, and be worth, say, 100,000 dollars. Something like this has been proposed by conservatives in the U.S., and it seems amenable to liberal goals too.

I wish we could have a system under which every person were guaranteed an income sufficient for life necessities, as long as they make some significant contribution to society. (Such as, for instance, community service.) The disabled could be exempted, of course, although not all disabled people are unable to work. Requiring contribution would seem to protect against the problem of free-riders whose laxity might make it impossible to provide enough goods and services to ensure a prosperous society.

I must say, from the sound and content of your posts, you are growing more amenable to capitalism by the minute. I am not trying to tease you, but not so long ago your attitude toward capitalism was more skeptical, to put it mildly.

The thing is...
first you need a job as a source for savings/investments. My jobs barely paid enough to keep the bills paid, so investing was not an issue.  And from the perspective of a retired person, this six months' vacation with pay twice a year thing is somewhat overrated.  One needs to have a purpose.
