Yes, SlyCy, it is. It also looks as if the Wisconsin guy might pay for it.

In this day and age, such irresponsibility is despicable.

Well, Blanche, you might get your wish. The Wisconsin guy is facing five
years...

Jerks. I guess they thought that gives them some idea of power.
I hope they lock their sorry butts up for a while.

Exactly, TAPS. There is a terrible expenditure of various resources used
to determine, mobilize defenses and combat a threat to any system.  Resources that are better used when there is a real threat.

Saul-relative, What a waste of time and energies and money--not your post--what the hoax cost us.  I always assume that these things are hoaxes, partly due to what Talion said and also due to the fact that I have been through three bomb threat hoaxes in my working lifetime.  But, when dealing with the possiblity of loss of life and life-threatening disabilities, one cannot take chances and all efforts must be made to treat the threat as viable.   In my case, those threats involved a hospital once and an extended care facility twice.  All three times, work schedules, treatments and normal patient care was totally interrupted in an effort to assure patient safety as emergency crews made sure there were no bombs.   Good post.

Most definitely, Talion. Therein lies the largest hole in the authenticity
of the the hoaxster's statement.  No, if terrorists even say anything, it is so general as to be worthless for intelligence operatives to use to pinpoint what, where, and how.

Real terrorists don't make announcements before an attack. They claim responsibilty afterwards.

Yeah, smartdog, I, too, had my doubts from the beginning. The scary part
of these hoaxes is, until they've been investigated and eliminated as viable, they must be treated as actual threats.  And if they're not, then it's time to deal with the hoaxsters.

Saul
Not only does this reflect on the dangerous times we live in, but also the knuckleheads who think it's all a joke.  Seriously, they couldn't come up with anything better to do with their time?

I for one was skeptical from the start.  No way real terrorists would actually name their targets.

Good post,
