Good grief Cunning, that is one for the ages. Brian was a homosexual

who was desparately in love with John, who even condescended to have a fling with Brian probably because John had had so many women, he wanted to see how the other tenth lives.  Descartes had one homosexual affair for pretty much the same reason.   John had a bitter relationship with many of his closest friends and he had suvived such a tragic childhood, much of what he did could be understood if not condoned.  Brian was also a difficult man tormented by his homosexuality.  One could write a book about this and I certainly am not interested in it, but perhaps somebody would be.  Maybe even you, if you wanted to pursue it
