If you had $1 for every time you were told...
to "snap out of it," you would be a wealthy woman, between the dollars themselves and the interest which would build up on that money. Thanks for dropping by.

depression is horrible
i had to take Luvox for years - then the panic attacks started - here comes Xanax. Went off for a few years - then back on. Now I just take a valium each morning to take the edge off - and Effexor for anxiety. OCD left permanently though - can't quite figure out why. The hardest part if the people around you that don't understand what is happening to you - and you don't either. If I had a dollar for every "snap out of it" I heard....

I have OCD which is bad enough. I hated taking pills so much that I live
without them right now. I thoroughly admire Howard Hughes who lived an incredible life until the poor bastard succumbed to OCD. I hope I survive better than he did, but right now I have a great cirlce of friends with whom I can talk. I hope you can deal with your bipolar disorder. God bless you.

I'd be interested in finding out if you take medication for it. I know that I had to switch off Zoloft because I was going into hypomania as a side effect of the SSRIs; I'm currently on Wellbutrin and Zyprexa, and I find that my symptoms have abated considerably (with the sole exception of the depressive episode I experienced two years ago) now that I don't have those hormones of my monthly cycle to worry about. (I don't ever want to go on hormone replacement therapy; the estrogen my body produced naturally during my menstrual cycles acted as a natural depressant, and I don't want to be seriously depressed again.)
