This is a good rule. One I usually follow myself.
This time, I had taken the cards out of my purse because I wasn't taking it into the location that I had to use them for, as it would have been too much carrying a purse around all that time.
I forgot to put them back when we got back in the car. I didn't even realize I had forgot to put them back. I'm just a little nuts sometimes!

I live out on the road about half the year...
One of my Cardinal Rules is this:
- Anytime you take your drivers license or credit card from your billfold, you put it back immediately after the transaction has concluded.
You don't stick it in a jacket pocket. You don't throw it in your purse loose.
Each credit card and my Drivers license have their own slot. Each one must be returned to the slot where it belongs after any usage. If you'll do this, you'll never misplace them.

Thanks, love. It is ok, I have found them...which is much better than the alternative. If they had been stolen, I would have some idea who did it, and that wouldn't have been good.

I once lost my credit card off the trunk of my car...
I went to the gas station, used my credit card and I guess put it on the trunk while I was pumping. Then I drove away and didn't realize for another day or two that it was missing! One of the biggest scares of my life, considering it's a debit card and I didn't notice it was missing for a while!
