Passionflower, I heard this earlier today on the news and thought of you
...who would have ever thunkit 6 weeks ago I would be thinking about my internet familiars today? As much of a travesty that it is, if it is what you want and need I hope you have it. It will delivered into your lap if it is meant to be. If you want it go and get it.

Bel...I hope she's okay.
There are no fatalities so far but a few injuries. FEMA is out there already assessing damage. They have a good chance of getting the federal declaration that would put me back to work.

Me too Lady...but the rich folks ... the ones who
Could stop the polluting and the damage to our planet ... those guys are not. They're money-hungry men with no conscience.

well said - but i am a woman of the earth
i plant my seeds and watch my flowers bloom in all of their brilliant colors - i sit outside and listen to the silence and sudden little bird chirps in the summertime. I have dirt under my fingernails - i love the earth and don't abuse it.

The earth is indeed a living being Lady...
But I don't think she necessarily gets cranky. These are simple and natural occurences. We've have tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes since the beginning of time.
Heavy industrialization of our planet has caused these natural disasters to become more frequent and more severe. This will continue unless we stop polutting the air, soil and oceans.
Perhaps if more of us realized that the earth IS a living, breathing Being, then we would treat her with more respect and honor.
Instead we have plundered and pillaged and taken what we wanted no matter the cost and now we're paying for it.

i know - the earth is a living being
and when it happens to "get cranky" people wonder why. it amazes me that such a life being can create so many things - i am mesmerized sometimes.

LadyChar...quite a few disasters occur on a regular basis
All over the US and US territories but unless it makes the national news, people don't pay much attention. I imagine the "Big One" will occur eventually but who knows where or when.
We humans shouldn't build so much in the areas we do. These are normal geological events that have been happening on this planet since the beginning of time.
