I had the greatest time at a funeral I attended about 7 or 8 yrs ago...
The deceased had set aside thousands for his funeral along with explicit instructions, where to be held, professional music group to play(grammy winners), what food served, fully stocked top shelf open bar,...it was a PARTY!

He was even there in his casket in the area he had designated. And a wonderful generous way to be remembered.

He was a reallysmart fellow. I guess alot of people are choosing cremation these days.

I dunno...
would it have to be 25 words or less? Benjamin Franklin wrote his own epitaph about being a book returned to the writer for further editing. There used to be a billboard along I-5 in Seattle: Last one to leave, turn out the lights. Actually, I've requested cremation and scattering my ashes off the ferry boat into Elliott Bay.

Moxie....I like your idea.
We should all do that! Arrange to have all our friends over for a "Funeral" while you're still alive....People always dress up and come to funerals.
What a surprise when they see you're not dead. I'd love to have a video of that event.

Since a long time ago, from the first time I've read the poem, this is what
I have wanted on mine....
The Little Cat Angel
The ghost of a little white kitten
Crying mournfully, early and late,
Distracted St. Peter, the watchman,
As he guarded the heavenly gate.
"Say, what do you mean," said his saintship,
"Coming here and behaving like that?"
"I want to see Nellie, my missus,"
Sobbed the wee little ghost of a cat.
"I know she's not happy without me,
Won't you open and let me go in?"
"Begone," gasped the horrified watchman,
"Why the very idea is a sin;
I open the gate to good angels,
Not to stray little beggers like you."
"All right," mewed the little white kitten,
"Though a cat, I'm a good angel, too."
Amazed at so bold an assertion,
But beware that he must make no mistake,
In silence, St. Peter pondered,
For his name and repute were at stake,
Then placing the cat in his bosom
With a "Whist now, and say all your prayers,"
He opened the heavenly portals
And ascended the bright golden stairs.
A little girl angel came flying,
"That's my kitty, St. Peter," she cried.
And seeing the joy in their meeting,
Peter let the cat abide.
This tale is the tale of a kitten
Dwelling now with the blessed above,
It vanquished grim Death and High Heaven
For the name of the kitten was Love.

Passionflower, I would prefer no tombstone as I would prefer my ashes to be sprinkled in the great outdoors. But, there is waiting for me a six-foot deep hole in the ground and a combo marker that also has my ex-husband's name on it. Since he is now married to someone else, that doesn't seem quite fit to me. So, we shall see what we shall see. I think I'll just leave it up to my sons to do whatever they want since I will be beyond caring.

Shelly...what you believe has alot to do with how
Your life unfolds...If you think you'll die young, you probably will. It's important to re-train the way you think. Begin to change old, harmful thought patterns.
Tell yourself out loud every day that you're going to live to be 90 - that you're always going to be healthy....that you have more than enough money to pay your bills.
I guarantee you that doing this 10 times a day will begin to change things in your real life. Just try it once...say those things out loud and see if you don't feel better.

Is the wrong way to go. If you do nothing, it probably will happen to you too. But if you'll take some positive action NOW, you can STOP that fate from occuring to you.

Shelly...it's your fear...FEAR is one of those "Forces"
That grows and multiplies...if you don't conquer it right now, you WILL wind up like your mom and grandma. As time goes on, FEAR will snowball until you can no longer function in the real world.
It's up to you. You can still do somethng about it. Find that inner strength and courage and be FREE of FEAR for good!

Passion...yes, it's true, I am...and it gets worse each year...
not only that..I fear of getting old at a young age, just like my mom and grandmother did. My mom is only 66 and she can't function alone...it's so sad.
I'm not sure why I'm scared? I just always have been. I know there will be a time when I will leave this earth but I don't think I will ever be ready for it.
