Interesting observations. My own take on a lot of what's wrong with the world today is that it's tied in to nearly instantaneous communication and our love of bad news. The combination of the two has inured us to evils that would have shocked us a generation ago.

But I have a much bigger thing for you. I admire your dedication to your grandchildren. They will need it much later. My theory on all the deaths and violence in the schools, has a lot to do with the schools. Hear me out. The schools are pushing more and more information on the students at younger and younger ages and they have turned them into little adults with the mind of children. Children get angry and get into things without haveing the mindset of right and wrong. Children are petty and fight and argue, as they always have, only now the schools are giving them bigger and better amuniton, to be petty with. I say let the children be children and while it does have many advantages learning things at a much quicker rate, the disadvantage should out way the advantages.
