07/16/05 - This cartoon was an admonition...
not to allow the 9/11 Memorial at "Ground Zero" to become a "Blame America" museum. At the time, there was much debate over the content of the prospective 9/11 Memorial to be built near the fallen World Trade Center. The statue in the picture is the now-infamous statue of Saddam Hussein that was pulled down in Iraq by newly-liberated Iraqis and brought to the ground by Coalition troops in the capture of Baghdad. It stands in the place of the Statue of Liberty as a warning of what may come to pass in the minds of the world if Saddam be lauded and America be shamed for their respective roles in the Iraqi War.
