Thank you for your long and insightful comment. I have always believed, and put into practice, that if one truly loves another then one must be prepared to let them go ; to another, or to death.
Lady Ariels has told me, and other people, so many times that the main reason that she loves me so much is that I set her free. It is not for me to dictate to anyone, for less one that I love, how to behave, how to live their life, or their beliefs.
Altho' I am an atheist, my life is guided always by Christian principals ; altho' I do not share their beliefs.

True Love bears no malice
So many poems of love bring on the emotion of dispare and anger, hatred of that cherished beloved. So confused is the human heart with the language of love and death, found in a commandment it cannot be love.
True love bears no malice to any. For love must be given freely and if not given freely is not love, but duty or passivity to fear. Those of us who have loved and lost, turn so quickly to the comfort of hate and anger to cover the wound of loss of will.
In God's commandment to "Love God" is the words of Jesus "If you love me, keep my commandments" and then "if ye keep not the commandment of God, ye surely will die. To shorten up the message:
Love God, or die. For us humans we turn this onto ourselves: Love me or die. If you love me, you'll do what I want you to do, if you don't, I won't love you, because you don't love me. So we hurt ourselves and the ones we love.
True love bares the burden of free will. Loving someone who doesn't choose to do what you want them to do is not an easy thing. Allowing your own love to flow from your heart to others regardless of their response is how love is meant to be. Toleration is the peace of love. People must choose for themselves their course in life and to love someone who decides their life is not to be spent with you, should be viewed as a loving thing and send that person on their way with your heart full of hope and love for him to find what he desires. Not wasted on woe and misery for his not conforming to your will or desire.
Thanks for the post.

Thank you for your comment.
I'm not a cockney ; my Ma and Pa came from Stepney ( she Irish and he of remote French descent ) but I was born in Dagenham. Dayjenham, as they call it now. LOL
You've really set me thinking today, amigo, 'cos I was sitting on the thunderbox this morning, thinking about how varied our friends are, and I thought " Hot damn! I'll do a post about that!"
So, thanks for that, also! It's called cross fertilisation. I'll let you know when I post it.

Ours is not to reason why, ariel, that we are influenced by some things
