I am still baffled that they timed the pagent to coincide with Ramadan. What were they thinking? I think it is important to be sensitive to other people's religious sentiments and holding the event a few weeks later may have helped the situation. As usual, however, the situation has more to do with wide income disparities and the barriers to upward mobility and employment opportunities than anything else. The pagent was just a trigger for releasing mass discontent and frustration with the exisitng socio-economic situation.
