I can understand if somebody has hurt feelings or just a down day, etc.
and they're needing positive attention or feedback, but once is enough. If it continues after that, BORING and I'm ignoring! To the point post Spitfire....:)

so are you leaving or aren't you?? LOL...just kidding.
I'm not a big fan of the fake goodbye, particularly when used again and again. But what I find more annoying is that droves of bloggers still click them again and again...like, hello--remember the "boy who cried wolf" ?? ;-)

Sir Strat, I've heard that before but
we used to say "Piss or get off the pot." Maybe it's a Chicago thing! (Mr. Spitfire always says that to me when he hasn't heard some expression!)

I thought I was the only one burned by this 'tactic'. It's a joke.
My answer to anyone so unhappy that all their posts are either rants, or they're dripping tears, is this: sounds like you aren't happy....so go then. In a relationship, when it comes to the 'I'm just not happy anymore' part, I either split or invite them to leave. Closure is good. Dragging things on and on and ON....bad. As if someone should have to tell you that. But duh. If they could see it for themselves, their posts would be more interesting and insightful, and they'd get the clicks the honest way....through content.
Unfortunately, the people I enjoy reading who have left, have said they were leaving.....and then promptly done so. Grrrrr.

Yawn, Spitfire, couldn't have said it better myself.
But I like the way you said it better. I don't feel this way about everyone, needless to say, and I'd like to be gracious and say nothing, but... my feeling when I see the same people (and we know who they are), pulling this same stunt ad infinitum is,
"Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya!" or maybe "See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!"
I guess I'm not that gracious and able to "rise above", after all.
