Thanks Justi...guess I'm tired of all those cliches that don't really
Work and never did but we still keep using them anyway.

Taps...I totally understand...

But what you probably don't realzie is that disasters are always going on all the time. You just don't hear about them unless they hit close to home. (unless you're a big Weather Channel fan like me)-

I guess it's not that Americans don't care, they just have busy lives. So you pay attn if a big hurricane hits but you probably don't know about the 40 tornadoes that occured in the midwest over the weekend.

A bunch of those folks lost everything and their governor will ask for federal assistance to deal with the losses. I'm just asking that I be one of those assigned to work there.

Not upset at all, Jacenta...

I do understand what you mean, it's just that there are certain times in your life when no matter what you do, nothing works and you find yourself in a completely bizarre life-situation that you never planned for.

Life doesn't make sense like it used to. Things don't always add up the way we were taught. I think this is a product of the times we live in.

I'm happy for you if yours still does, but it's not that way all over the world. Alot of nice folks who worked hard all their lives lost everything last year because of Katrina. This  is the sort of thing I encounter alot. Those people didn't do anything wrong. They made all the right career moves and used common sense and good judgement in their everyday lives.

Today, whereve that million or so people are, I can tell you one thing for absolutely certain::::

Their lives are NOT what they made them!

Times are hard for all of us at some point. We just go through them to the high point right around the corner.Hard times have made me stronger.

Passion, you know I love you, but I have to say to you, your life could be much worse.  What if you had no job at all to get you through this?  Be thankful.

Passionflower, I have just a wee bit of unsavory thought about wishing ill on another's house in order to pay for one's own.   I'm glad that when the storms rage that you are there to help those poor souls get a new start.  But there must be something interesting and lucrative for you to do in between those times.  Wishing you good luck in finding just the right thing for you.

If you want life to be different Passionflower, it is up to you to change it.  I've always told my children this, too. So please don't get upset with me.   Bless you.

My life sucks, but no one made me choice the life I have I just lived my life as it came along.  I have tried starting businesses but because I was so involved in my life I didn't pursue what I really wanted.   I am renting a house which I have to move our in 3 months, that is not how I wanted to live my life, but s..it happens.

I won't steal it. I promise!

That's the frustrating part Lustor...

My life is NOT what I've made of it. I've made different plans but it hasn't done any good.

Think I'll come up with a counter-slogan for "Life is what you make of it" as well. It's not always true.

Babe, yes, there are many things like that.
I could be a city inspector, and estimator for a construction co., an insurance adjuster....several things like that. I'm looking around now.

Blanche, there are also a couple of places where God

Comes right out and says that if someone is doing you wrong or if something is wrong in your life...and YOU pray and tell him what's going on, THEN he'll get involved and make it right.

He waits for us to SAY, "Hello God! You won't believe what just happened!"

Isn't there some spinoff from your other work, something similar, that you could do for a while?

Passionflower, I'm cracking up at your second to last paragraph

Yeah, pretending life is a field of lilies.  That, and I don't think I'm supposed to be meek and mild all the time. Jesus had a temper, he did say what he thought.  I think the Bible is taken out of context a lot, to prove whatever someone wants to prove.

So, I don't think that turning the other cheek is always the right answer.

I don't think so, Blanche...

We're realists who live in a world where you struggle every freakin day to make your rent and car payment. Every time you even look at a piece of pie you gain 5 pounds.

All your friends lie, cheat and steal and have a much happier life than you. I'm just sick of it!

Somethng should be done but how will God see what's going on and do something if we just keeping sitting around smiling stupidly at one another, singing "Amazing Grace", while pretending that our lives are a fragrant romp in a field of lilles???????

Let's just start calling it what it is:  Wearisome

LMAO, Passionflower, I know what you mean. If I see one more copy of
Footsteps In The Sand, I'll.. I'll...I don't know what I'll do, but I know what you mean. Heretics, I tell you, we're going to burn for that.

posted by Blanche. on October 1, 2006 at 12:51 PM | link to this | reply

Blanche...very true and thanks for pointing that out!

Guess I get a little tired of all those syrupy sweet 'sayings' that everyone passes around in your email. I'm gonna start writing my own version of Footsteps in the Sand.

If God is there beside me or carrying me, then it would be cool as hell if he'd say something.

"Speak up God!

I need to hear you voice today!

The way has become dark and bleak.

I'm swallowed by the fray."

Passionflower, I've never like that Nietzsche quote, "what doesn't kill me

makes me stronger", because nobody ever says that Friedrich Nietzsche, the quy who came up with the quote, died,  totally psychotically insane in a lunatic asylum, thinking that he was Christ!  So, if it didn't work for him, why should I buy it?

No, I believe that the straw breaks the camel's back, one little straw at a time.

Okay, so yo're not getting out of there to go hurricane hunting, time to come up with Plan X,Y or Z. We know that the 9 to 5 cublice life is chocking the life out of you, causing your eyes to glaze over and your brains to keak out of your ears, and that Richard, nice guy that he is, is another straw.  It's a port in the storm, so to speak, but it sounds like you have to find a new port, or tweak.

You definitely need more interesting work, how about commission sales on some exotic items, high-ticket items, like yachts or something?  You could go with the yacht, to deliver it.

Sorry should not laugh! That bad huh? I think I will take your saying and auction it on E-bay. Can we go 50 -50 on the proceeds!
