Remember the MONK episode where they had that infrared thing that highlighted all the "gunk" in the room and Monk went ballistic? That is me. ROFL.

GROSS!!
I know people who won't stay in a hotel. I just don't think about it and we don't use the bedspreads. I mean, you could tell if sheets had been slept in or not. So I just bring our own blankets with us. UGH.

Several years ago, when a reporter named Dave Savini was working for WMAQ-TV as an investigative reporter, he did one of those sweeps-month stories (the really sensationalized stuff designed to pump up ratings so they can charge advertisers as much money as humanly possible) on this very issue, and he found the same thing. I think he found that bedspreads (as opposed to the regular bedding) were changed only every month, and were loaded with semen stains and other disgusting things. People like me, on all the transplant drugs, have to be very careful.

Jemmie211, This is one area where I exhibit paranoia.  If I am travelling in my car, I carry along enough of my own bedding to make my own bed on top of the already made up bed.  I cover the whole thing with my own large sheet and then use my own blankets or sleeping bag.    I have been doing that since I discovered that hotel/motel bedspreads have, on average, 34 different samples of semen that are various stages old.   If I'm traveling by plane, its not as easy, but I grit my teeth and and do the best I can.

Germaphobes: You Might Want To Think Twice... about more that this...
Interesting HOT material. This confirms more and more my choice on certain product that really work. I just brought a HUGE suitcase of cleaning product with me to Italy, where they don't have this stuff, and I got rid of our cold in record time... my little one was getting a HUGE RINO and so was I... I have MS so it's real important to get rid of every type of germ too... but that is talk for another time... More on this scary topic on Germs. THis really is something I hope everyone will be able to read about. Pass this around and keep up with this type of information on digging up the dirt to expose that people should also try bring things with themselves to protect themselves from all them Germs on the LOOSE....
