Wow this is a fantastic post! I have to read it again.

We are the sum of our past experiences. Yet, this does not preclude the
fact that we can be objective -- maybe not absolutely, but objective to a high degree.  That we reflect what we've been taught shows our willingness to narrow our options to a relegated category.  Sometimes, much to our detriment...

MysticGmeKeepr, Definitely we look at what is going on from our already made-up minds.

I agree to some extent...my Dad was a very strong influence in my life and although I rebelled against him in my youth I came to understand them in my adulthood...my Mom too.

...arn't our superior attitudes a tad ridiculous tho? I guess I skirted over that a little in my Genious post today on the other blog. And.....I meant past lives as children and impressionable young people, but re-reading I can see where that wasn't clear. Thanks  so much for the visit.

I agree.
It's all down to factors that were in place long before we were born. we are little more than puppets. Ooops, don't mean to be depressing. But we can have fun, I suppose, even despite this!

I agree. Human beings are the sum total of their upbringing, environments, and experiences. Our worldviews are "tainted" by these factors, weakened or strenghtened depending on the support we recieve. With this in mind, the "superior" attitudes we often adopt are even more ridiculous.

I have a question. You wrote, "All those authorities in our past lives taught us how to interpret people and things, how to judge events as good or bad, evil or holy." By past lives, do you mean when we were younger or a more literal reincarnation type situation?
