this is a horrendous problem with no easy solution. it has been allowed to burn out of control for far too long. when you look at the human face of it, its nothing but sad for the immigrants as well as the americans trying to maintain their way of life, their language, their jobs. Spend money on us...what a concept

I couldn't agree with you more. There was a time when I worked at
McDonald's in California because it was the only job I could get. I often had to be on shift with mostly people who spoke Spanish as their primary language and could barely speak English. I don't have a problem with immigration, per se, but with the state of affairs today it would do America good to close our boarders to immigrants and deal with the problem of boarder jumpers. It surely isn't being dealt with now. Most people don't realize that if you get into the US legally and don't leave when your visa expires, or worse yet, sneak in YOU CAN NEVER BE LEGALIZED. Unless the President grants amnestly, they will never become a citizen. If they get caught, they get sent back and cannot return to the US for TEN YEARS. What happens to the kids they have with someone while they're here? But they often have no idea that this is the situation until they're here and entrenched in the mess we could prevent by not allowing them access to the United States. Maybe if we stopped spending money on the wars we're waging and spent it on the US in the form of better boarder control, we'd have a better economy and happier citizens.
