For me, an evolving "God" is the only thing that makes sense.

we see the same things in some ways -- probably we deviate from each other in several other ways
but you are an example of what i mean.
the old explanations are becoming less and less valid.
however, people that adhere to them believe truly that they are valid.
so here's the rub -- how do we move from the less valid to the more valid so that we can serve those who are leaving the old behind -- and at the same time, not upset those that believe so fervently in the old.

A very interesting post!
This "NEW CHRISTIAN," of which you speak, is, indeed, quite real. I believe he is not only the "new" Christian, but the "Future" Christian!
The beliefs and practices of "current" Christianity are so different from those of the earliest of Bible adherents as to barely comparable! Christianity is dynamic and constantly changing. This is a very good thing! Their numbers, tho they may decline a bit, will eventually soar to new heights, while the number of true Atheists will take an increasingly steep nosedive!
Christianity's future is, I believe, a very bright one! It will not only survive, but it will flourish!
