The clip on my blog about humor clearly shows Clinton getting mad

AND THEN ANSWERING THE DANG QUESTION. It's not like he didn't have a good answer. I think what he said was a quite valid point after he finished with the finger pointing and name calling. If I was him I'd be damn mad too. He has been impeached for doing something a fair percentage of people do....committing an act of infidelity. Not only that, but when you add the white male in a position of power, it's almost inevitable throughout history. That is a total non-issue and we all know it, but the media exploited the hell out of it.

Let's all take a moment to explore, in addition to the ignorance of intelligence reports on the BA's part, their failure to do anything concrete since the BOMBING OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. How can you possibly criticize Clinton for anything in the face of what Bush has NOT done in office.

I think in the worst case scenario, we could have had a fair, intelligent and conscious president in office at the time of 9/11 and seen him assassinated because he was those things. I almost feel fortunate that we have Bush, because I don't think any one man could stand up to the corrupt system we have in place right now. All our governments decisions are primarily motivated by the almighty dollar and little else. To believe otherwise is to be completely blind. That said, the only thing that will correct the situation at hand is the strength and unity of America's citizens in instituting real change. It starts in the way we view our leaders and the world we live in. We have to all start focusing. They want us to be like Ritalin soaked goldfish in a bowl. They don't want us to see issues clearly and agree. This type of political banter is just comments from the peanut gallery. We all need to put our money where our mouths are and do something to make things better, even if it's only to agree that the government is f**ked, Republican and Democrat alike.

PS Whacky

Pat Robertson may be utterly devoid of any moral compass, but I suspect he found his way to the polls when he was on the ticket.

Next time I horse-whip him down Main Street at High Noon, I'll try to remember to ask him.

And thanks for the idea. Now Patty-Cakes and I will have something to discuss between lashes ...

Do I detect a bit of ad hominem non-argument right here?

Perhaps it's just my perception, but it would seem the primary thrust of my blog has been missed by some of the smartest people I've met here. Please, quit sniping at each other and address the issues.

Was the question, "Did you try to catch or kill bin Laden" fair or not? I, for one, probably would have asked the less confrontational "Are there any declassified or unclassified facts you can cite about your administration's efforts to catch or kill bin Laden?" That would have allowed Clinton some breathing room, but as a bit of a media darling himself, did he do a "Nixon" and try to shoot the messenger?

Once asked, in any format, did our former C-in-C answer the question, or not?

Were Clinton's attacks on his interviewer simply a case of nerves (possibly motivated by the recent airing of the TV docudrama "The Road To 9/11" and all the fruror engendered thereby) from having heard that question once too often this past week or so? Or was his attempt to defame the interviewer and question his motives what they appeared to be (at least to this professional interviewer): an attempt at misdirection, attacking the questioner rather than answering the question.

Now, let's get back to what we all saw, heard and processed from this, and quit making Trouble in Pepperland. Peace, my brothers and sisters, please!

Nobody's gonna convince anybody to change their thinking on this issue, so what we're doing  here is constructive, mutually respectful debate. There are plenty of other blogs where you can yell at each other and take potshots at public figures. That's not what we're doing here. Noisy Voices are fine, but they must be Reasonable, OK?

When sensitive issues are on the table, a little comity and mutual respect goe a long way toward finding points of consensus.

If I wanted to just yell at people and show them how much smarter I was than they, I'd go back to my first career as a folk singer ...  at which I failed miserably, which may account for my own distaste for such persuits.

Uh oh I didn't even think Pat Robertson voted for himself.

Hummm.

Why is Chris Wallace whining to the press?
Ol Slick caught him off guard, him and his "fair and balanced" smirk that passes for impartiality. The GOPers are trying to pin Osama on Slick because 9-11 happened on the BUSHIES watch, that Condi had an intelligence report that said "OBL to strike America using planes," and they did nothing.

I just wish Billy Jeff had smacked that punk on the side of his head and peed on him like we do in Texas when we've had enough of someone's crap.

Mark Rarmcwa-I agree w/ u only because he helped Bush; we gave Ch&State
a try in the name of George Bush, because we hoped we would get good values. So even the warmongering I blame on Clinton's failure--moral and sexual, his parsing the truth with "depends what the meaning of "is" is", just a tad better than Karl Rove and Bush lawyers who practice torture politics-- but he took the neocons on on their ground, like Rush Limbaugh and uncouth Bill O' Riley. We knoe nothing of debates and politics ...they are as separate as Church and Stae were under the founding Fathers. Witness the neocons calling Hillary Clinton LUCIFER....that is no way to teach the rest of us how to disgaree politely. Least of all, that is not we want to teach the Iraqis...who have all the cards against Saddam & yet keep rejecting their own judges in that sham case. Shalom

It was fun playing tag....what do you say...tomorrow...Hide and Seek?

If there was any real national policy to undercut, he might be a threat.
However, we don't have a national policy, Corbin, merely a grab for money, oil and power by the cronies of the oil cartel.

Well, that certainly is a response, Corbin, and a common one.

He's history, Corbin, and only five year old run around yelling,
"He did it first" as a way of deflecting attention away from the their own misdeeds.

That's one show, Corbin. We're talking the last five years.
I'll admit my bias, as well. I don't like liars or thieves.

I'm getting ready to document the numerous lies he told on the Fox Show.
You're such a voice of reason and fairness...with abolutely no bias...or agenda what so ever.   At least I openly admit that I have a bias and an agenda.

One time, he tries to answer his opponents and very vocal critics, of which
you are definitely one, Corbin, in your very cute way, and he gets slammed.  Fair is not in your vocabulary, I'm afraid.

Sophisite, I agree in principle, but as he said, he at least tried to find
and remove Osama Bin Laden. President Bush said, "I don't spend much time thinking about him and neither should you."  That is a documented fact.  What Clinton did or did not do at this point in time, is irrelevant to our current situation, and the finger pointing at Clinton should stop. It's childish.

Agree With Corbin
Though people may be intelligent it does not excuse lying or justifying behavior because someone else behaved in a similar manner.  People with true character, in my opinion, accept responsibility, especially when they do things similar at different degrees.

Rarmcwa, there is no question that Bill Clinton is smarter than his

political opponents. He was a Rhodes scholar. I think he's been incredibly patient to put up with the endless ad hominem attacks on him over the last 5 years. This is nothing compared to what the Right's minions, including many of our own right here in River City, have been saying for years.

They froth at the mouth over Hilary, still.
