I think this is one of the most profound pieces
you've ever written. I'm deeply impressed, mi amigo. And, I'll miss you 'round here.

Dear Sonnetmeister Deluxe
Yeah, if anyone could do the job, appropriately fueled with nicotine and beverage alcohol, you're the boy!
Now, about this recycling business: the only reason I'm doing so much of it is, I have a backlog of columns I wrote for my little newspaper in Hopewell Virginia, and a lot of them are Hardy Perennials, treating on issues which keep getting recycled themselves. They're posted on Blogger.com, but have received very few comments, so I thought I'd try 'em out on a blog where I could get a more robust response. And it's working real good, Laddybuck!
Thanks for your kind words. Now go get that pint and thos 20 Rothmans and get cracking! I don't know about over in your time zone, but here on the East Coast of the Colonies, we're burning daylight!

Hi Mark (easier to spell)
Good stuff. I pretty much agree with your portrayal. I'd like to write about Jesus but I can't really do it justice in a sonnet. What am I saying? You can say anything in a sonnet. Maybe I'll have a go. After I've gone out to get some cigarettes and a bottle of beer. Prioritization, ya know. I did write a short story about God and Jesus' relationship recently but I can't really post it on a poetry blog. PS: I admire your ability to recycle writing. I'm so bad at doing this. I would rather write something new than send a short story to a second person after submitting it unsuccessfully to a first. I've got to get over that.

You are too kind ...
but for God's sake, don't stop! I need all the encouragement I can get, especially as Fallwell's attorneys have sent me a registered letter of complaint. I wouldn't mind defending myself in court, but the thing is, the damn letter is ticking and glowing all at the same time ...
