Sometimes one has to wonder at the sobriety level of folks that get involved with a tribute like that and screw it up with inappropriate drivel. I'm sorry to read that my friend.

PostSmile! Very sad that this could not have been seen before the unveiling.

Corbin,

I know that all of life is getting 'politicized', but this is truly appalling. Views on the event of 9/11 and its aftermath may vary, but this memorial ought to have been neither more nor less than a reminder of a deep human tragedy.

To make it a vehicle for political or even 'philosophical' messages speaks to the povert of spirit and understanding of those who approved them.

And to Donna Bird and the Arizona State University history professor I say this: of the three statements quoted, one is an opinion, the other is a question. Neither one is a fact! And the one that may be factual has no business on this memorial!

Holy hubris, Batman! The Joker is at it again!

Dear C,:

Were it reported by anyone but you, I'd doubt the verascity of this story ... since it is you, all I can say is .... fer cryin' out loud! What were they thinking?!?

Tempe resident Donna Bird, whose husband Gary was killed in the attack, was among the 30-member Arizona 9/11 Memorial Commission created by former Gov. Jane Hull in 2002.

She said all the inscriptions were found factual by an Arizona State University history professor. She added that she wouldn’t have helped design the memorial, which names her husband, if it were political.

Well, it sure as hell is political, Donna..........What does an event in Afghanastan years after 9-11 have to do with that actial attack?

That seems like a very odd thing to do
How did they get it approved with sayings like that?
